Communication is more than speech

People may communicate with speech, AAC, visuals, signs, gestures, body movement, facial expression, objects, typing, behaviour or silence.

AAC support

AAC may include low-tech visuals, communication books, key word sign, partner-assisted scanning, high-tech devices, apps, switches, written choices and partner strategies.

AAC trials

Exploring tools, access methods, vocabulary, environments and implementation.

Partner training

Coaching families and teams to notice, wait, respond, model and create communication opportunities.
